The Frontline Food Safety Training program aims to provide frontline employees, food processors, and extension agents with the knowledge and skills to safely produce food products. The training covers key concepts surrounding employee hygiene and handling practices, cross contamination, allergen control, documentation practices, and food defense geared towards the job responsibilities of production, sanitation, maintenance, and machine operators.

The 6-hour training will include engaging and hands-on activities to allow participants to apply their knowledge.

Participants will also receive supporting training materials, certificate of completion, and a light lunch will be included. While training will be taught in English, we will have the training materials available in both English and Spanish.

Training logistics:

  • Training hours: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    • Light lunch is included
  • Registration fee: $30 per person, discounts available for 3 or more employees and NC State and NC A&T employees. Contact Kate Nicholas at katenicholas@ncsu.edu for a discount code.
